U.S. officials revealed that U.S. and Israeli leaders will have a phone call to discuss Israel’s response to Iran

Three U.S. officials recently shared that President Biden is expected to have a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on October 9. The main focus of the discussion will be on Israel’s plans to respond to Iranian missile attacks.

According to Axios, this will mark the first conversation between Biden and Netanyahu in nearly two months. The first -Hong Kong·Family and Women’s Development Summit- was held to discuss the power of -her-

On October 9th, the first “Hong Kong Family and Women’s Development Summit,” organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Women’s Commission, and the Family Council, took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This summit, themed “Harnessing Women’s Power and Promoting Good Family Values,” focused on the contributions of women to society.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan highlighted that Hong Kong is an open, diverse, and vibrant international metropolis. With women comprising 54% of the population, he noted that Hong Kong women are excelling in various fields. As society progresses, modern women are showing strength and independence, serving as vital pillars in driving social development.

Chan further mentioned that women not only contribute their wisdom and strength to social and economic development but also play a unique role in family dynamics, education, and building family values. He assured that the government would continue to actively promote initiatives that support family and women’s development and expressed hope for collaborative efforts across the community to enhance family harmony and women’s welfare, ultimately constructing a harmonious society.

The summit featured a series of speakers from various regions and sectors who shared their experiences and insights on promoting family and women’s development, as well as approaches to fostering healthy family growth.

Among the speakers, Ma Liejian, a member of the secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation, commended Hong Kong women for embodying the “Lion Rock Spirit” and actively contributing to the common development and prosperity of Hong Kong and the nation. She emphasized that passing down the vital tradition of “a harmonious family brings prosperity” is crucial for promoting a civilized society and building harmony. The state will continue to create favorable conditions for women’s comprehensive development, making the family a cornerstone of national progress and social harmony.

Former Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Fu Ying introduced her remarks with the character for “peace,” which visually represents “a woman within the home,” illustrating the essential role of women in maintaining peace. Recalling her experience in peacekeeping missions in Cambodia, she pointed out the indispensable part women play in post-conflict reconstruction and peace processes. Given the new security challenges faced globally, she urged women to leverage their unique empathetic understanding to contribute to peace and security.

Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs Kantha Phavi addressed the summit via video, sharing her country’s experience in achieving socioeconomic development through gender equality. She underscored the importance of empowering women for ensuring human rights, family support, and development, asserting that women possess resilience and the ability to shape the world, all rooted in the transmission of family values.

How Social Media Firm is Helping Students to Fund Their Education

In today’s digital landscape, social media has evolved from merely a platform for entertainment and connection into a powerful avenue for achieving financial freedom, with monetization opportunities becoming increasingly prevalent globally. Nigeria is no exception, as more and more young individuals are transforming their creative passions into sources of income. For many students, this has become a crucial way to support their education.

GSMNS Global, a prominent social media management company, attests to witnessing numerous creators under their guidance successfully fund their education. Founded in 2018, GSMNS Global has rapidly established itself as one of Africa’s most innovative companies in social media monetization. Starting out with just one content creator, they have now empowered hundreds of young Nigerians, helping them harness their creativity and optimize their social media presence for greater revenue.

Samuel Ijaola, the founder and CEO, shared his perspective: “When we first entered the social media monetization space, only a handful of Nigerians recognized these platforms as serious income sources. However, we persisted in offering our services to content creators, and one notable response came from Mark Angel.”

Ijaola continued, “Today, we manage nearly a thousand creators. We offer consultation, advice, and strategies to maximize social media content because creating engaging posts that draw views is no easy feat. Many of these creators are students, and while I can’t provide specific numbers, countless individuals have successfully funded their education and graduated thanks to their earnings. Our primary mission is to help creators succeed, and we are dedicated to achieving that.”

The company’s success isn’t merely incidental; it has been significantly strengthened by crucial partnerships with major platforms, including Meta (Facebook’s parent company) and YouTube. Christian Bassey, the firm’s COO, attributes much of their capability to support creators to these collaborations.

“Our official partnership with Meta and our role as a YouTube MCN provide us with access to tools that creators wouldn’t otherwise obtain. We manage the intricate aspects, like understanding algorithms and handling monetization, allowing them to focus on their creative passions,” Bassey explained.

He added, “We have creators from some of Nigeria’s leading universities, and it’s incredibly gratifying to see their growth. Many begin by seeking a little extra income, but as they navigate the monetization process, they start earning enough to cover tuition and living expenses. Witnessing their journeys is truly inspiring.”

Bassey also emphasized that this emerging wave of content creation is addressing youth unemployment in Nigeria. As traditional 9-to-5 jobs become scarcer, many young people are discovering financial independence through their online endeavors.

“Content creation is offering young people an alternative to the conventional corporate job path. Instead of relying on government or private sector positions, these students are taking charge of their financial futures. This shift is positively impacting their lives, keeping them engaged and away from negative influences.”

He concluded, “It’s contributing to a better society. The chances of young people getting involved in criminal activities decrease when they focus on building their own success. It’s all about directing their energy in a productive way.”

$10,000 from Allegheny Township sent to Armstrong County fire department

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — The Allegheny Township Board of Supervisors has opened an investigation into how thousands of dollars from its bank account made it to a fire department across county lines.
The money from Allegheny Township was sent to the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company in Amstrong County last year.
During a meeting on Monday, board chairman Jamie Morabito held up a copy of the check, showing $10,015.67 leaving an Allegheny Township account and going to the fire company on Aug. 13, 2023.
“This money should have never left this township, and it will be returned,” said Morabito.
The check was marked for deposit for the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company’s Toys for Alle-Kiski Fund. It was signed by supervisor Mike Korns, then supervisor John Rennick Steele and then township manager Greg Primm.

But Morabito said the township board never voted on that check at a public meeting, and township solicitor Craig Alexander says according to state law that’s illegal.
“It was handled by two supervisors, one supervisor was left out,” said Alexander. “And that is illegal under the second-class township code. All action has to be conducted before a majority vote at a public meeting.”
Sources said the money was released to a former Allegheny Township employee who was one of a handful of people in charge of an annual Christmas toy drive that started in 2014.
After the meeting, Korns admitted he may have made a mistake.

KDKA-TV’s Jennifer Borrasso: “When you move money from any account, don’t you have to make a motion to do that?”
Korns:”If the money wasn’t township money, and it was not township money, I don’t know that we had to. But if it was township money, yes. But I said I didn’t know that when I signed the check. I didn’t realize what was going on. But the fact of the matter is it is not township money, so I don’t believe there had to be a motion to do that.”
Borrasso: “What about disclosing it to the public?”
Korns: “That probably should have been done, just in full disclosure.”
Allegheny Township’s solicitor plans to ask the fire department to return the money. No one is facing any criminal charges.
