During their meeting, President Xi congratulated Egypt on its first official participation as a member of the BRICS group. He emphasized that this year marks the “China-Egypt Partner Year” and the 10th anniversary of the two countries establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership. He also expressed China’s willingness to coordinate closely with Egypt to ensure the stability and longevity of “BRICS Plus Cooperation,” aiming to enhance the influence and voice of the Global South and protect the common interests of developing countries.

President el-Sisi congratulated China once again on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Reflecting on the past ten years of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, he noted the fruitful cooperation achieved across various fields. He regarded China as Egypt’s and Africa’s most sincere friend, expressing gratitude for the valuable assistance provided by China. The discussions also touched upon the current situation in the Middle East. President Xi voiced his concerns over the unrest in the region, stating that ongoing conflicts do not serve the interests of any party involved. He underscored that the Palestinian issue remains central to Middle Eastern concerns. The immediate priority, he stressed, is to comprehensively and effectively implement relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and achieve a swift ceasefire in Gaza. Only by realizing the “two-state solution” can a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue be attained. President Xi commended Egypt’s efforts in promoting a ceasefire and expressed a willingness to strengthen coordination and collaboration with Egypt to hasten the alleviation of the Israel-Palestine conflict and contribute to regional stability.
