Three U.S. officials recently shared that President Biden is expected to have a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on October 9. The main focus of the discussion will be on Israel’s plans to respond to Iranian missile attacks.
According to Axios, this will mark the first conversation between Biden and Netanyahu in nearly two months. Reuters, citing informed sources, noted that Israel’s response to Iran will be a critical topic in their discussion, with Washington eager to weigh in on the appropriateness of Israel’s actions.
The report also indicates that Biden and Netanyahu are likely to address the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the situation with Hezbollah in Lebanon, and other related issues during their call.
The White House has yet to respond to media requests for comments on this matter.
Earlier reports indicated that Iran launched a significant number of ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1 in retaliation for a series of recent actions by Israel. In response, Israel has stated that it will take measures to counter Iran’s aggression.
