This year’s National Day holiday witnessed an impressive rise in cultural tourism, with museums and cultural sites nationwide debuting new exhibitions and hosting a variety of activities to enhance visitors’ cultural experiences.

In Shaanxi, the Xi’an Museum launched an exhibition titled “Exploring Chang’an,” featuring over 30 significant archaeological finds. Artifacts like the Tang Dynasty Hu Ren musical figurines and Tang Sancai wine cups vividly demonstrate the historical exchange and integration of Eastern and Western civilizations. Meanwhile, the Hanzhong Museum offered an interactive “Six Arts” activity, drawing numerous visitors eager to test their skills.

A visitor from Sichuan shared their experience, saying, “I brought my children to immerse them in Han culture, including archery. The atmosphere and overall organization have been excellent.”

At the Hunan Provincial Museum, a cutting-edge “Digital Exhibition” showcases research conducted over the past fifty years on the Mawangdui Han Tombs. Utilizing ultra-high-definition scanning and naked-eye 3D technology, the display highlights intricate designs and vibrant color artistry in the artifacts, allowing the public to connect more deeply with their historical significance.

In Shanxi Province, known for its rich ancient relics, sites like the Qianfo’an Xiaoxitian in Xixian County and the wooden pagoda in Shuo County have attracted over two million visitors this year, representing a remarkable 148% increase compared to the same period last year. Visitors can don VR headsets to explore virtual representations of the pagoda. According to the latest statistics from the National Cultural Heritage Administration, cultural venues across the country welcomed over 74.88 million visitors during the holiday, setting a new record.
