On October 17th, a cargo plane from Uzbekistan took off from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, en route to the capital city of Tashkent before making a brief stop and continuing on to Liège, Belgium. This flight marks the successful launch of the “Zhengzhou-Tashkent-Liège” cross-border e-commerce air cargo route.

Transporting approximately 45 tons of goods, including fashionable clothing, household items, and seasonal products, the flight carried over 20,000 pieces across various categories. With four flights scheduled each week, the route will provide more than 200 tons of air cargo capacity weekly.

Uzbekistan, as a participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, has Tashkent as a key transportation hub in Central Asia. Belgium, often referred to as the “crossroads of Western Europe,” boasts a highway network that connects closely with major cities across the continent. The launch of this new route not only serves Belgian businesses but also significantly benefits neighboring countries like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Italy.

Li Jinyu, Vice President of Zhongdamen International Logistics Group, highlighted that the initiation of the Zhengzhou-Tashkent-Liège air cargo route will enhance international logistics support for cross-border e-commerce businesses in Henan and nationwide. It aims to facilitate trade relations with Belt and Road countries and support more Chinese companies in expanding their global reach.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhongdamen has inaugurated additional cargo routes from Zhengzhou to various U.S. cities, including Atlanta and Dallas, as well as to Paris, France. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve the global logistics network covering key markets in Europe and North America, further weaving the “Air Silk Road.”
