On October 24, the 2024 National International Draughts Championship concluded in Daqing City. Nearly a hundred players from 15 teams representing cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong, Chongqing, Hebei, and Sichuan gathered for six days of intense competition to determine the champions across four different categories.
The tournament featured competitions in both men’s and women’s categories for 100-square and 64-square formats. The event was structured in two phases: preliminary rounds followed by knockout stages. The preliminary rounds utilized a seven-round Swiss system, with the top eight players from each category advancing to the finals. In the knockout rounds, a single-elimination format was employed, and in the event of a draw, quick tiebreaker matches were held. The 100-square format had a match duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes for the first 45 moves, followed by 30 minutes plus a 30-second increment. In contrast, the 64-square format allowed 30 minutes per game per player, with a 10-second increment per move.
