Taiwanese brands achieve greater glory again with the 3rd Overseas Taiwanese Business Excellence Awards promoting global marketing strategies_1

On September 24, a significant ceremony took place at the Taipei Garden Hotel, where the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) celebrated the third annual “Selection and Support Event for Overseas Taiwanese Brands.” This initiative, launched in 2021, aims to leverage Taiwan’s strengths and foster development in Taiwanese products worldwide. The event saw robust participation from Taiwanese businesses, both domestically and internationally, and featured live online streaming to engage a wider audience.

OCAC Chairperson Hsu Chia-ching personally presented the awards, adding a meaningful touch to the ceremony. Attendees watched videos showcasing the winning companies, illustrating their innovative successes and contributions to the global market. This year, the competition expanded its reach, incorporating rigorous preliminary rounds held overseas, culminating in finals in Taiwan. Ultimately, five outstanding entries received the prestigious “Gold Award,” while seven were honored with the “Silver Award,” highlighting the commitment of Taiwanese companies to research, innovation, and competitiveness on the international stage.

The Gold Award winners hailed from Thailand, Vietnam, and the United States, featuring innovations in AI technology, healthcare devices, and sustainable solutions. Notable products included International Remote Monitoring Co., Ltd. from Thailand, recognized for its “AI-ALPR License Plate Recognition Software,” the New Sun Company from Vietnam for its “W3-II Inflatable Rehabilitation Shoes,” and several innovative offerings from American firms, like Yocai Co.’s automated multifunctional vending machine and Chinnovate Technologies’ AX48 wall-mounted charging station.

The Silver Award recipients showcased equally impressive contributions across technology, environmental solutions, and recreational products. Thailand’s Chong Rong Precision Casting Company stood out with its “Taiwan Blue Magpie Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Radar Support Kit.” American winners included Rietsch Technology, celebrated for its dual award-winning “NURO-822E Edge Computing AI Workstation” and “PNSR-5000 Cybersecurity Communication Platform,” along with standout products like the Mobo Trike from ASA Products Inc. in Los Angeles and eco-friendly floss by Chicago’s BRIGHTWORKS PRODUCTS INC.

Chairperson Hsu highlighted the growing engagement in the event, which saw an increase from three product categories last year to eleven this year, reflecting the enthusiasm of overseas Taiwanese businesses in digital applications, AI technology, and global sustainable development. She reiterated the OCAC’s commitment to supporting Taiwanese enterprises through their transitions and encouraging them to forge new brands beyond traditional OEM roles that typically come with slim profit margins.

Hsu pointed out that this event not only honors outstanding companies but also offers a wealth of resources for their growth. Award recipients gain access to a package of benefits, including project credit guarantees, consulting from international accounting firms, brand development courses from trade associations, and promotional services from business development research institutes, all aimed at enhancing their competitiveness and expanding their global reach.

The “Selection and Support Event for Overseas Taiwanese Brands” serves as a dynamic platform for showcasing the remarkable innovations and success stories of Taiwanese businesses, fostering collaboration between these enterprises and the government. The goal is to ensure that quality products labeled “Made by Taiwan” shine on the global stage, helping to realize a vision of a vibrant and enduring Taiwanese economy.
